A Tiny Snack

MAX

I found a bug last night that was flying around a lightbulb in our family room. Since I am in charge of Vermin Control, which includes not only my mousies but bugs too, it was my job to get it. Mom says it might have been a ladybug. How did you know it was a lady and not a man bug, Mom?

Anyway, while I was watching it, Dad said "Max! Stop staring at that light. You'll hurt your eyes". But I didn't listen 'cause I needed to watch my bug.

After I reached up and batted at it a few times it decided to walk on the table. You probably can't see it very well here but it's right above where I marked my paw print, and I was watching it closely.

Then when it walked to the edge of the table and fell on the floor, I
jumped down and ate it!!!

It didn't make a very good snack though. Too tiny!

What did it taste like? I'm not allowed to eat bugs if mom's around. Oh, and the Catolympic link is fixed. There is a link both wihin the blog and also in the menu on the left.

You can sure get your purrson upset if you stare at lights! Drives em nuts. Mittens is on Bug Patrol here in the Big Piney Woods cabin. She gobbles them all down after (mom says) she tortures them....Her favorite is flies and spiders.

Brach can't wait for summer. He is the insect hunter in our house.

I would hunt, but I don't want to mess up my manicure...

We had a big ole fly that was rolling around like he was drunk. He was prolly just waking up in the warm weather. I batted him around but didn't eat him. -Scout

You seem to be pretty good at Vermin Control, Max. I don't think I would like to eat insects, though. Haven't seen any flies, etc, here yet, think they are still asleep as it is cold!

Yucks, I hate eating bugs. They taste so funny and sappy. Yhew.

But they are fun to play with though.

We all like to chase bugs, and we wish we had had some to chase and eat while Mom was gone (go to our blog to read why). We really like the flying cockroaches and those are what makes Mom scream most.

A cat is supposed to hunt, and you hunt what you can. (And you obviously do it well!) That way, you're ready if a mousie ever tries to set up a home on your property.

My specialty is lizards. My brudder Gucci prefers hunting the roaches. We have yet to hunt mousies.
