An Ice & Glass Incident

GEORGE

I got stepped on yesterday and it caused quite a commotion!!!

Mom and Dad were cleaning up after dinner and there was some ice water left in their drinking glasses. You all know I like ice, so Mom told Dad to dump the cubes in our bowl.

I want to say right now that what happened next was NOT MY FAULT, but somehow Dad tripped, stepped on me, fell down, dropped the glass which shattered into a squillion pieces, cut his hand and spilled ice & water all over the kitchen floor!!!

Of course, I shrieked and took off running, Dad was on his hands & knees and Mom screamed "Don't move, don't move...there's glass all over the place!". Dad wanted to know if I was OK, so she ran into the living room and checked me over quickly (I was fine, just a little scared), then got a broom and cleared a place for Dad to get up without squishing more glass into his hands.

Even though I may have gotten underfoot 'cause I ran over there when I heard him putting cubes in the bowl, after stepping on me Dad apologized several times, further indicating that what happened was HIS fault, not MINE. Plus, he felt sorry for me so I got to nap on his lap all evening.

Dad's hands just had some minor cuts...nothing serious.

I am very glad you are okay. Did anyone give you some ice to make up for the trauma?

I am glad your Dad is okay too.

I'm glad you and your dad are o.k. I frequently get "underfoot" and have been nearly stepped on at least 2,986,956,523.67 times since I adopted my mom.

Poor baby! And poor Dad! I'm glad it all turned out OK. Mommy scared the whiskers off of me on Saturday when she dropped and broke one of my food bowls. She said I jumped so high that we saw eye to eye for a second!

We are very glad you adn your Dad are okay. Of course it was not your fault - you are a cat and therefore perfect. And there was ice involved - you cannot be held responsible when there is ice involved.

Glad everyone survived such an accident. We never get under Jan's feet. Okay, once or twice - an hour. But it isn't our fault. We watch where we're going. She should watch where we're going too.

Did you get treats after that? Cause you totally deserved treats. I'm glad your Dad isn't maimed for life, but really, it was his fault, because it's ALWAYS the peoples' fault...

We're glad you and your dad are ok - Pearl got underfoot the other day. She jumped straight up in the air when mom accidentally stepped on the tip of her tail. She's fine and we thought it was funny (but mom told us not to laugh)!

I'm glad everyone's okay. It's very scary when something like that happens as someone could get hurt very bad.
