More on Mousies

GEORGE

Remember when Mom was upset 'cause she found a live mousie in the house and she blamed us for falling down on the job 'cause she had to get it herself?

Note to Mom: You KNOW we would have gotten it. You just found it FIRST and completely embarrassed us by telling the whole world about it!!

Well anyway, we've always had mousie problems in this house for as long as I've lived here. Dad has tried to find out where they're getting in and thought he had the problem solved but now he thinks they must be coming in somewhere under the deck and he says he's not about to tear apart the new deck to find a hole underneath!

So Mom bought these things. She didn't want to put any bait inside in the basement 'cause of us, so she decided to put these bait things around outside, hoping to stop the mousies before they get in.

Really Mom, I don't know what your problem is!! Except for that ONE TIME, haven't we ALWAYS gotten them? And it's not like you have to worry about us eating them or anything 'cause we're not hungry. We just play with them 'til they're dead.

With 4 of us here no mousie stands much of a chance of escaping and it adds a little excitement to our otherwise boring day. Yes, yes...I know all about them carrying disease & germs and you don't want us to have mouse breath and you don't like to come home to find a dead mousie and you're afraid to walk around in bare feet when you get up on the morning , but honestly, isn't that better than finding a LIVE one?!

Note from Mom: These things must work because we haven't had one mouse in the house since the bait bars were placed around outside. Yesssss!!

Wow, maybe my mom should try those bait bars for our mice....do they go outside? Mom always worries about mice dying in the walls of the house cuz one time she had maggots coming out of the dining room wall from a dead mouse dying in there. Uh, sorry to have told you that story.....

Couldn't I come over and play with your mousie? I've decided I like them since Daddy helped me over come my initial fear of them... Yes, I was scared silly by mices and Daddy had to hold my paws and offer me lotsa primo 'nip before I'd go help him look for the one that tried to move into our garage a few years back! ;)

Thanks for checking in on our Callie! About her kidney function - the vet checked absolutely everything. He said her kidney & liver function, blood sugar, thyroid tests, blood counts etc. were not only normal, they were exceptional for a cat Callie's age. He thinks the only thing it could be is she's not absorbing nutrients from her food.

Hmm... We've not ever had mice. I think that's a good thing. The Woman wouldn't know what to do and honestly--I am not sure I would either...

Mom got a kick out of the mousie situation. We had a similar situation before we moved here. Mom saw a mousie running around and she was yelling for one of us to get it. So was very surprised that none of us made a move to get it, cause we love chasing them around. It was around for a few days then disappeared. Don't know if mousie visited the new occupants are not. Sounds like the bait thing worked.

Only thing that was in our place here was a lizard. Mom told it to hide so none of us would get it but Cleo almost got it.
Enjoyed your visit, thank you.

OK, we're making sure our humans don't see this post, because if we are going to have mice in the house, it's going to start about now with the cold weather.

No traps! We want our toys, darn it!

I'm glad your Mom found a solution, but sorry for all of you there will be no more playing with mousies indoors.

I agree with Vampy Victor about where they go to die. Once we found one inside only because it was dead. We didn't have any traps out then, and have never used poison.
