My Terrible Ordeal

MISTY

I'm home everycat, I'm home!!! My tummy hurts and my leg hurts and my spot #13 hurts, but I'm finally home.

(sob) I thought I might never see my home again. I don't know how I got there, but I was being held prisoner in some terrible place where the people tortured me and did very bad things. (shudder) It was so awful, I can't even talk about it. I think they must have kidnapped me 'cause the last thing I remember was playing with some thread, then I woke up and I hurt everywhere! I was so afraid and I kept telling them "I want to go home" but they wouldn't let me!! After a while I felt stronger and I let them know I was really, really mad and I wasn't going to let them poke me or do bad things to me any more! I fought back and then the man in the white coat called Mom and said I could go home and she came and saved me.

I'm very tired now and I need to rest. Mom says I have to live in the bathroom for a while while and I might need to wear that lampshade thing while I get better from all the bad things that happened to me. She told me all my friends were thinking of me and sending purrs so I could come home.

Thank you, thank you everyone, 'specially you, Speedy dear. I know the purrs you all sent helped me be strong & brave and get back home. I love you all.

Note from Mom: Misty is on 4 liquid medications - pain, anti-inflammatory and 2 antibiotics for the next several days, will be separated from the other cats and monitored closely for post-surgical problems. She's not completely out of danger yet and they only sent her home because she was fighting them and they felt the elevated stress wasn't good for her. She's very happy to be home and is resting on the perch and letting me pet her. The other 3 are in the bedroom for a few hours so she doesn't feel threatened.

I want to thank each and every one of you that left comments and checked on Misty's progress. The outpouring of support was overwhelming and we truly appreciate it.

I am so glad you are home and feeling a bit better.

MB says that she found Livvie with a bit of thread hanging out of her mouth once and when she pulled it, more and more thread came out, that she had swallowed. She caught it just in time and was able to pull it all out!

I hope you get better very soon.

Oh Mistykins I am so glad you are home from that horrible torture place. I know how much you suffered. I swallowed thread when I was a young girl and well, I was lucky but I despise going to that torture place, it is horrifical.

Get lots of rests and I will purr for you

Oh Misty, you scared us all ALOT! I am so glad that you are feeling better.

My Mum says she never thought of string or anything like that being so hazardous, so she is going to do a "sweep" of the house tonight and check for bad cat things.

Be good and feel well sweet friend.

Misty, we are so glad to hear that you are doing so well after your surgery. Mom says that one of the kitties that came before ate the lifting cord to the turkey and had to have the same surgery. He did fine and lived to be almost 20. Mom also says that if your mama wants to let you have a little more freedom and not have to be a cone head, a baby onesie with a hole cut in it for your tail works really well to protect your tummy stitches. That is what they did for the one that came before. They just took it off of him when he had to use the litterbox.
