A New Experience
GEORGE
I must congratulate myself. Why, you ask?
Well, you can see why below.
I was resting on the bed with Dad and, as usual, we were discussing our plans for the day, when suddenly Blurpy appeared! She stayed with us while her parents went out for New Year's Eve and Mom brought her in the bedroom to lay her next to Dad.
I wasn't sure how to react to this, so I let Dad know I was a little tense. He told me to relax, and Blurpy wouldn't hurt me.
Then suddenly, she reached over and touched me!!! Well, of course I didn't know what to think. Was it the end for me...was I done for?! If I survived would all my fur be gone? Was my tail safe?
But friends, when she actually put her hand on me, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She didn't grab my fur or anything!! She just touched me softly with those little hands and jingled my tags.
I've decided she's OK and I'll let her touch me again some time.

Awwww. that's just the sweetest thing, George! We bet you and Blurpy will be great friends someday soon!
See, you are doing the right thing, because by meeting a wonderful cat such as yourself at her young age, she will always have an appreciation for the wonder of the feline species!

George, you're a capital fellow! And your dad was very alert to your feelings and did a great job of helping you and Blurpy get acquainted. I'm so glad you didn't lose any furs or your tail!
