A Guilty Pleasure

GEORGE

OK, I'll admit it. I have an obsession. There...I've said it.

Mind you, I'm not proud of it, and there are those who would say I'm a bit weird, but I have a "thing" for Mom's makeup bag. More specifically, her blush brush. I thought by now, in my advanced geezerhood, I'd have gained control of this problem, but I haven't.

Every morning when Mom puts on her face, I'm right there. I know I'm weak, but I just can't help myself! I lose control and stick my face in the makeup bag and inhale the Mom-smell. (sniiiifff) Mmmmmmm.....

Then as she takes each item out I wait in anticipation...first the foundation, the powder, the lipstick, the eyebrow pencil (which I must admit, is tempting), the eyeshadow, the eyeliner, the mascara, the blush and...yes, yes...there it is, the BLUSH BRUSH. I've got it!!!

(ahem) Sorry...where was I.

Mom has given me my own brush many times so I'll stop bothering her and knocking her makeup on the floor. But they were old, wornout brushes. Then she even got me a new one all for myself, but I don't want any of those.

I want yours, Mom...YOURS! I want the one you're using NOW, not the old ones and not one that smells like under the couch.

Friends, I need your advice on this. Should I join a self help group? Do I need an intervention?

Do any of you have what some would consider a "weird" obsession? Be honest now. We're all friends here and no one will judge you.

Maybe when I hear your answers, I won't feel so guilty.

I'm not sure there are self help groups for that. Really, as a cat, you know what ever you like is a good thing so go with it.

My obsession is Momma's hair elastics!! I love, Love, LOVE to play hockey wif them!!! If one is left one the counter...it's not usually there fur furry long. The last time we moved, Momma found 13 of them (plus a few Q-tips, another fav) under her dresser.

I say, to each their own!

My Mommie is mildly allergic to cats. One day, I was sniffing all over her blush brush. Then after she used it, she ended up getting a red rash/hives wherever the brush touched her face. It looked like really, really, really red blush. Hahahahaha!

Your obsession is very cute and I think it just means that you love your mom extra lots. Either that or you wish you had pink cheeks. Either way George, you are and will always be a very wise mancat. If someone thinks you are slightly weird...well, just smack 'em with your mom's blush brush!!

I think you need to wear some blush.. It wont cure you, but it'll be a great picture!

You know the basic cat law, if you can get it, it's yours. So I wouldn't worry. Our mom is still trying to find out who steals her TOOTHBRUSH at night. heehee

You don't need an intervention. You just need for her to accept that she has to share.

I have an obsession with toothbrushes! Momma & Daddy have to hide their toothbrushes cause I love to pick them up and carry them around the house. They don't like that and have bought several to replace the ones I took.

They finally went out and bought me some toothbrushes but I still try to get theirs. I know they hide it in the cabinet drawers now.

One of these days. MOL

It's just your way to be close to your mum. No intervention needed.

Seems fine to me. I HAVE to have the sink fountain on while they shower so I can sip from the stream.

Hmmmm...it's an interesting obsession George! But my mum thinks it's quite sweet. Most of my obsessions involve licking and food...

I think we all have quarks! No help groups needed. My quark is that I will not lay on any blanket that isn't flat. If it has a lump or a roll, I meow and circle until one of my beans smooths it out. This includes snuggles, the comforter on the big bed, the Purdue blanket...

I think your mommy should give you YOUR (ha ha ha) blush brush any time you want!

Oh, no, don't worry 'bout this at all. You don't need an intervention!! I agree with Max - your mom just needs to share.

You do not need an intervention! She should just hand it over to you ;-)
