Mancat on a Lazy Afternoon

MAX

What do you mean "You look like you're in the same spot as when I left"?

Mom, you don't understand. It might look like I haven't moved, but really I've been very busy!

OK, let's see. Right after you left I was a little hungry so I went to the kitch..no wait, I was too tired to jump down so I took a nap instead.

Well...there was when I...hmmm...no, I just thought about doing that, but then I didn't.

Um...(ahem)...oh yeah, when I heard that noise outside I was going to go look, and...no, I didn't do that either.

Ok, ok...maybe I didn't get off my perch, but I thought about it a lot!!

And I did watch a spidey on the ceiling! That should count for something, right?

What a great comfy looking throne befitting for a King! Hey, spider patrol is hard work but somebody's got to do it.

Well, y'know, thinking about stuff is VERY HARD WERK! So of course you need lots of rest.

Misunderstood, that's what we are. You have been doing your thing all day long. We don't call that nothing.

You did LOTS from your perch. Even though you physically didn't move, your brain was on turbo power. And that too, needs some rest!

We don't blame you for not leaving your perch. It's pawsome!

You know, Mom's just don't get how much work actually goes into thinking..I think your thinking should count for EVERYTHING! Especially if there are treats involved.

Moving is overrated. Humans are so weird. Don't they understand that you were being in the moment--it doesn't mean you have to DO anything...

You mean there's a problem with the fact that you haven't move all day?? We think not...

Every time the people go out they come back and say "Haven't you moved at all today?" And I'm thinking "Haven't you used your brain at all today" but I keep my mouth shut because they have the opposable thumbs. They can't even conceive the notion that we moved and then came back to the exact same spot.

Hey, it's possible. Right?

Our mama thinks we don't move either, but then she doesn't know what goes on when she's at work (or where we hide the 'nip)!

We're Wisconsin cats also. Can we link to you?

I don't want to blow your cover story about being in the same spot but I have to admit that last week with my mom left four four house and came back home I was in the same spot. Yep, the very same spot as when she left.

You look so comfy there - such a great spot for a cat to contemplate in kitty ways.

Please visit my blog about a colony of abandoned/feral cats near my home. There will be stories there as time goes on that could inspire and inform anyone you know who is helping or plans to help homeless cats anywhere.

Would you add me to your blog list?
Thank you,
