I feel bad for him. If he's awake at 2PM, he must have a lot on his mind.
I never knew a cat who suffered from insomnia. Mom does, but we four sleep just fine, thank you.
Actually, during the work week while Mom and Dad are gone, we're sleeping at 2PM. Sometimes, even when they're home on weekends, we're sleeping at 2PM and I see nothing wrong with that. It's' what we do.

That's as good a time to sleep as any!
Toby is deep in sleep coma at 2 pm. Leia has to routine checks for nasty things like squirrels, birds and so on, so she doesn't sleep quite as much.
The only reason we wouldn't be sleeping at 2 pm, is if our supper came early!

WE think 2PM is prime nap time, so does Mom! Of course. we think any hour or time is sleep time.
I agree 2PM is a great time for a nap. In fact anytime, except 2AM, is a good time for a nap. At 2AM it's time to play "thundering herd of elephants"!

We always nap at 2pm. Mum wakes us up about 3pm to see if we want to go for a walk.
Dat is our after noon afore da mid afternoon nap time! Speedy sez he'd love to come over...um, he should already be der. Din't even see him leave! Wow.

2 PM or AM. Sleepy time.
2:00 PM is the purrfect time to be asleep under the bed.

I am not able to wake up Michico 2AM anymore, she sleeps like she never wakes up. But, hey~ She always could be waked up by me and 5AM or 4:30AM now.
At least I have tried.
I sleep a lot too. I usually like to sleep on my mum's desk besides her when she's on the computer.

Unless the UPS man is late, I'm off in zzz-land at 2pm daily. And 3pm. Usually 4pm... and so on and so on.
It's a wonder any of us cats ever get our blogs posted.
