3rd VET Report

MOM

First of all we want to thank everyone for their purrs and good wishes.

The vomiting stopped for a day and a half, then resumed. So, back to the Vet for an x-ray which showed no blockages or masses. George was re-hydrated (for the 3rd time) and received a different anti-nausea shot and pills to stimulate his appetite. He's dropped from 16.8 lb. to 15.4 lb. in less than a week.

Okay, how old is George? Sorry for being brain-slow. It's not hyper-thyroid is it? Some symptoms are weight loss and vomiting. (Annie was diagnosed in September, at 9 years of age which is far less than the average age of 13.)

IBD? If IBD, he might need a grain-free or raw diet, etc., etc. Lots of info on various sites/Yahoo groups about that.

A food allergy (not IBD)?

Could be so many things!

He's had a full blood work-up, right? I thought I had read he did.

Sending lots of purrs and kitty kisses and hoping this can be sorted out. If you haven't had his T4 tested, though (for hyper-t), maybe consider doing that.

Good luck! Fingers and paws crossed.

Sorry to hear the vomiting resumed, but we are so glad to hear there are no blockages or masses! We're with Kea, maybe it is IBD or a food allergy?
Feel better soon, George!

George, please feel better soon! We're purring and purraying for you!

Are they sure there's no blockage? I know Misty had the string thing, but EG's obstruction was latex and it didn't show up on the xrays. Plus, it was still in his stomach, so his intestines kept looking fine. Just a thought, though I know you guys don't have tasty dawg toys laying around. Or maybe pancreatitis? We're sending lots and lots of hugs and purrs for you guys.

We are sending more purrs for you George. When I kept being sick and losing weight a couple of years ago, it turned out that I am allergic to beef products. I always used to be able to eat food with beef in it, but it just suddenly started happening. Now mum has to check the food labels to make sure there are no beef products or flavourings in them.

George, dude, buddy, this is not good to find out that you are still having tummy issues. I hope you aren't getting into something that is making you a little sick. Like I did a few years ago getting into that one plant and then licking the icky plant juice off my paws.

PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
