Incident #3

GEORGE

Since she's been living with us, we've now had 3 Shasta incidents. The latest went like this and I observed the whole thing from my vantage point between the pillows. If you missed the other two, go here and here to read about them.

Mom let Shasta out in the morning and when she came in, instead of staying in the kitchen she ran into their bedroom. Before Mom could stop her, Shasta jumped up onto the big bed -- right on top of Max who was resting there.

Well friends, I want to tell you, it was like a scene out of a cartoon! Mom hollered "Shasta, NO!!" Poor Max was so startled he leapt straight up and all his legs went out sideways. He gave Shasta a good whap to remind her of Rule #7. She yelped and went to hide under the bed.

Obviously this dog is a slow learner. But the best news of all is, she'll be going home soon!!

Note to readers: Shasta is fine. I think Max got her on the head or ear, not the eyes or nose.

Poor Max, Shasta sure is a slow learner. Even Sachi and Miko have learned to leave Tiger alone when he is sleeping.

Well, the jumping thing could have happened to anyone (it has happened numerous times in our house), however it still sounds like it will be good for Shasta to head home soon.

Ooops! Sorry that happened to you Max. We think Shasta probably misses her own home and is ready to go curl up on her own bed.

That's the thing with dogs. All action and enthusiasm but the agility of a bulldozer. A cat could have prevented such a mishap with a simple mid air flip-summersault combination. But not dogs. What can we say? We're glad no animals were seriously hurt, but mostly: tsk.
