What About my Compliments?

GEORGE

Most mornings I get up on the big bed and visit with Dad while Mom takes her shower. I jump up, walk around to find the softest spot and sometimes, if I'm quick enough, I find the warm place where Mom was laying.

Once I find the right spot, I settle in and spend a little time with Dad. We snuggle together and he tells me what a good son I am...how handsome...how smart. You know, all the usual things.

But this morning Dad was "running late", as he put it, and just as I got settled he said he had to get up.

What! He invites me up here, then he leaves!? What about our time together?

But more importantly, what about my compliments? Who's going to pet me and tell me how good, handsome and smart I am?

Hey George, YOU KNOW that you are the best, the smartest, the most beautiful and cleverest cat...just like me. We could be brothers. Next time your Dad doesn't tell you all those good things, you just come over to our house and my Mom will. Promise!! Have a great day, George!
Your pal,

Well maybe he can tell you all those things twice tomorrow! I can't imagine why he'd run away from you though. That is just rude!

George, we hope your Dad tells you all those things when he gets home from work. We think the time change over the weekend made a lot of parents run late this morning.

That is no way to start a Monday! You'll just have to get two times the amount of compliments on Tuesday...or go on strike!

That just won't do. Your dad should just accept the fact that he is late and don't take it out on you. Maybe you should wake him an hour earlier tomorrow, so he will have all the time in the world to give you the compliments you deserve.

Well if he was already running late, a bit later wouldn't make any difference. Either that or wake him at 3am to make up for missed cuddles.
