A Collar Secret

MAX

Mom is a little aggravated with me 'cause of my collar, or should I say lack thereof. For the past several weeks, every time she's seen me I've been "au naturelle", meaning I'm without my collar.

You see, Mom has this thing about us wearing a collar with an ID tag on it in case we ever get out. So, because she's so paranoid about this, every time she sees me without it, she looks around, finds my collar and puts it back on me, only to find me without it again and again.

Finally, after several weeks of this game, she decided the snap must be broken on the old one, so she bought me a new collar, red of course. Today when she came home, I'm au naturelle again.

So she asked me how I keep getting out of my collars, even the brand new one. Sorry Mom, I'd like to tell you but I can't. A professional magician never reveals his secrets!!

That's good not to tell your secret but you better stay inside then!

Never tell - it's good to keep the Moms guessing!

Houdini is right! If your not microchipped already, maybe your mom could look into that. Sometimes shelters will have low-cost microchipping clinics, if that is an option.

We don't wear collars; our PA is more scared that we'll get them caught and choke, even though the ones she used to buy were the ones that release if caught.

Max--keep your collar on! What if you got out and someone picked you up? They wouldn't know who you belonged to!

Heh. The Woman won't let us go without collars, either, for the same reason. Once in a while I get mine off, but she actually saw how once...I had help. Furry black help. Not much she can do about that!

Max, I keep losing my collar too! And mom keeps putting it back on me! One time, I lost the collar completely! Mom looked everywhere but couldn't find it! So she got me a new one with a new tag. And she still hasn't found my old one! I wonder wear it might be???

Way to go Max! Or should I say Houdini! I have gotten out of my collar a few times. But for the past two year, I go natural too. Ducky too, no collar.

We used to have collars for all three of our cats, but we always would find them like under the couch, or under the bed, etc. They definitely are magicians!
