Nicknames
Toby & Tilly family over at the Tower Hill Mob recently blogged about all the names the humans call them. We think it's perfectly OK for cats to respond to these names, but only if no one else is around to see it. Since we don't want to embarass ourselves, if there's anyone else but your family in the room, you should just ignore these types of names completely and pretend you don't hear anything.
So, here are ours. Don't laugh!!!
George - Georgie Boy, Georgie Porgie, Georgie Pie, G. Pie
Tipper - Tipp, Tipper Doodle, Tippy-Do, Tippity-do-dah
Maxwell - Max, Maxwell Smartkitty, Maxie, Maxie Meower
Misty - Misty Everpurr, Mist, M.E. (for Misty Everpurr)

Princess, Ms. Mia, Ms. Meower, Mi Mi, Meow Meow, Princessica, Mia Bella.

George, is G.Pie your secret rapper name?? I can't picture you in those big drawers, though. The only nickname I have is weinerhead, which is what mommy calls me when I'm messing with stuff I'm supposed to leave alone. Well, Dad does call me other names, but I'm too young to say them. I've chewed his magazines well to make up for those names. Or was the chewing why he called me the names? I can't remember...

I have a heap of names...but I will always answer to Wimmy, Immy, Oobie and Imm. And of course Timmy and Timothy!
Georgie Boy is sooo cute!
Beau is of course Beau Beau, Beau monster (whaaaatt?) Beaubs and Beau Beau obo. Oh my how embarrassing (hides his face wif his paw).
Angie is Angie wangie, and Anjaleeca and Angelico and as always, Pretty Girl.
The Mom's favorite nickname for me right now is Grumpy Girl. I'm not grumpy. I just state the obvious.
We all have lots of funny names, as long as I only get called them in private.
People are so wierd. We don't respond to names, we respond when we feel like it. We just humor them by coming when we are called.
Mine are Squeakers (don't ya hate it when you open your mouth but no sound comes out?), Baby, Little Nemo and my newest is catnip baby. spazzing is such fun!
Ho-kay, I'm Victor, Victory, Vic-vic, Sweetie, Boy-Kitty, Kitten-Cat, and Getoffathere.
Bonnie is Ms. Bonnie, Bon-Bon, Bonita, Bonster, Girl-Kitty, and Getoutathere.
We would never laugh at anyone's names. Alberta is really called Albert, but when mom took her to the v-e-t for the first time as a kitten, she added the ending "a" so no one would know she was a girl kitty with a boy's name. (long story) Then her middle name is Katherine so she gets called AllyKat a lot. And Charlie's name is really Charlene Frances Jeanne. Try saying that when you're in a hurry. Ha! So they call her Charlie and everyone thinks she's a boy. Sky is really "Luke Skywalker" - HumanGyrrl named him. And Blackie is simply "Blackie Boy".
Momma calls me Gimlet alot... Of course the best one is that they call Chey Piggus Maximus! She so hates that!!!
I love the Georgie Pie one. I'm sorry, George, but is is kinda cute. Tippity-do-dah is a close second too since I can already hear the singing that must be involved.
