Finicky vs. Selective

GEORGE

Mom's been trying to get me to eat Stinky Goodness food because I'm supposed to have more liquid in my diet (for my kidneys). At first I liked the pouch food and ate it really well, but now I don't want it. Then Mom tried canned food and I won't eat that either.

Now this Sheba stuff. I just sniffed it and walked away, but Max and Tipper ate it. I think Misty will be more like me. She only wants dry food...no moist or table food.

Mom says "You know, George, this is very expensive and there ere are homeless kitties who would be happy to have this".

Fine, then! Let them have it! I don't care because I'm not eating it!

MAX

Some cat in this house is finicky. I'm not mentioning any names, but he knows who he is.

GEORGE

I am not finicky! I am selective...and there's a big difference. Unlike other cats around here who eat everything in sight and come running when they see the treat bag, I am choosy about what I have and there's nothing wrong with that.

MOM

Fine, if you won't eat right then we'll have to go and see what the V.E.T. says. You might have to start getting shots.

GEORGE

Wait a minute! Nobody said anything about going to the V.E.T. They'll shoot me and take my blood! Last time I was there they even took one of my TEETH!

TIPPER

George is going to the V.E.T. ... George is going to the V.E.T. ... George is g

MOM

Watch it Miss! You and Max are both due for your booster shots and checkups, too!

George...I'd like to think your "selectiveness" spills over into your taste in women (which is why you are an esteemed member of my Tomcat Stable.

As far as that goes, being picky is fine, too!

You know, they say "you are what you eat" and I wouldn't want to be mushy, wet and stinky, either!

You better eat that stuff! The v-e-t might have to do evil things if you don't!

Personally, I love Sheba but we've had a hard time recently trying to find it. Most of the time we turn up our noses at canned food too. And Eddie! George, I bet you and my bro are secretly related! My mom gets quite upset because some days he won't eat anything. She even resorts to telling him he's going to make her cry if he won't eat!

I'm with you, George. I only like dry. I don't even like the food with my name on it.

You do need to drink more. Maybe you can get your mom trained to give you fresh running water out of a bathroom sink. I really like that, and I drink and drink and drink. Santa Claus brought a water fountain for Christmas, but I won't use it. I prefer having Mom or Dad wait on me and turn on my water.

Just give the wet food a chance! That's all I ever wanted to eat until Mom & Dad started offering me the raw medallions. Now I'm afraid the canned food just doesn't cut it, and don't *even bother putting a bowl of dry food in front of me. Hmpf!

But since my sissies like dry food, Mom's offering them Raw Instinct sometimes with no grain in it - it's biocoated with raw food. And Nature's Variety (the brand of all our food now) emailed Mom that all their food is supposed to be 6.5 ph, whatever that means.

So far so good ... Mom adds distilled water to anything I eat now.

I don't much like my canned food either. Chey will pig out on it and so will Georgia but it's just not the same to me. I like to feel that crunch!

I'm not a big fan of food either. I mean, I like MY stinky goodness, but only the one brand and ONLY 3 kinds of it. But I'd much rather be playing so I truly understand. But you might want to try it...anything is better than needles!

Poor George. I wish you could find a Stinky Goodness that you like. You need the moisture, or you will have to spend more time at the vet.

Oh George. Eat any wet good stuff any chance you get! It doesn't get any better than that. Well, maybe bits of ham from The Big Thing's food prep area.

But wow, you don't like the good canned stuff?

Have you ever tried hard food that has been moistened with water? My mom takes some hard food and adds some water to it, so that it gets soft, and sometimes I like to eat that. It might be something to try if you need more liquid in your diet.

arrrrrrgggghhhh! that's the Sheba stuff we love that was discontinued! can you still get it where you live? we can't, and we want it. the Lady bought one can of each of a dozen different things and we're trying them one by one. so far, Midnight doesn't like any of them, Cocoa likes a few, and I like most. that's probably why I'm "large".
Grr
