Whose are They?

MISTY

Mom found a few white whiskers on the dining room rug the other day while she was vacuuming. Sometimes I sleep in the dining room so they could be mine!

TIPPER

Well I sleep on the dining room chairs sometimes, so they could be mine too!

MISTY

Is this something I should worry about? I don't know if I've ever lost whiskers before.

Oh no! Girls, do you think I'm going BALD?! I'm too young...this can't be happening to me!! Has this ever happened to any of you?

TIPPER

Misty, calm down! We all have white whiskers in this family, so they might belong to George or Max, too. It's quite normal for cats to lose a whisker now & then, so you don't need to worry. You'll just grow another one in it's place.

MISTY

(phew!) That's a relief. I NEED all my whiskers!

I am having a whisker crisis too. My whiskers are curly and brittle and they are starting to break off on one side of my face!

I think that sometimes we do loose whiskers, but they always grow back.

Tipper is right - cats lose whiskers all the time and they usually grow back. I guess whiskers are important for most cats, but we Sphynx either don't have any or just have tiny ones, and we get around just fine!

Clyde lost a whisker yesterday while he was rubbing his face in catnip. Those things are sharp! Poke your momma with one sometime. It's funny!

Mom finds our whiskers all over the house too. We do not think you should worry about it because they always seem to grow back.

Mom is silly when she finds a whisker. She asks us individually "did someone lose this" and then laughs. Weirdo.

Me again! My cousin Sylvester had all his whiskers cut off once from a horrible bean. That is how he became my cousin. He wandered into the cat door at my Mum's brother's house and has been there ever since. He has really big whiskers now! Why oh why would a bean cut off a cat's whiskers? : (

I lost a few whiskers, too.

No...my friends, I'm not marrying Yoggie...at least anytime soon. We've decided to remain just sweethearts for now. We're both so young and I'm not ready for marriage yet.

Hugs...G

You'll grow new whiskers, Misty, nothin' to worry about. My momma thinks it's good luck to find kitty whiskers. She's weird like that. Although it is good luck to have a cat in your house to begin with.

It's always sad to say goodbye to a whisker, but they are always growing back! I have one over my eyes that is a bit curly. It always comes back curly!

Momma says finding whiskers is a sign of good luck, that is what Momma says, anyway.
