Pray for Misty

9:30 PM

She is on heavy duty pain medication, but her eyes are open and when they say her name, she looks at them. Her temperature is normal and will be checked again in 6 hours. They told me I can call after 9 AM tomorrow and if she's doing well, we can visit her.

We appreciate all your comments and good wishes and will update in the morning. Please send purrs that she will continue to improve during the night and be stronger by morning.

My heart is breaking that my sweet girl has gone through this.


6:10 PM

The surgery is over. There was a mass of thread in her intestines that had cut it in several places and Misty had a section of her bowel removed but the surgeon feels there will be enough left that she can still digest food normally.

Right now she is in guarded condition since there is still a chance of other organs failing or infection setting in. I will check back with them later tonight for an update.


3PM - Sat - 11/29

Misty will be in emergency surgery this afternoon.

When we got home from our daughter's this morning, she was listless and not herself. She was crouched over her water bowl but not drinking. I gave her 5 small syringes of water to re-hydrate her and we took her to our regular VET.

She was severely dehydrated so they gave her intravenous fluids and found she had ingested white sewing thread which is under her tongue, twined in her teeth, going down her throat and needs immediate surgery. At that point it was already noon and they close at 1PM , so once she was stabilized, we transferred her to the nearest 24 hour emergency VET.

They will operate today and see if the thread has cut her intestines or stomach, and they may need to re-section her bowel.

Misty needs all your prayers since she may not survive this. What she has going for her is the fact that she's young and very healthy and we think this happened only in the last 48 hours or so.
