Living in a Zoo

GEORGE

Last night Mom let Tiger & Gino be out with Max and me.

At first everything was OK 'cause we were on our cat perch, just watching them. They walked all around and jumped on the furniture and looked out the patio door and that's fine.

But later, when I wanted to be on Mom's lap and Tiger was there, she HISSED at me! At ME...in my own HOUSE!!! So I had to be on Dad's lap where I gave Tiger some stern looks while Dad explained that they need a home and love, just like all kitties do.

OK, I understand that, but this is MY house and a guy in MY position shouldn't be hissed at in his own home. I can't believe the things I have to put up with around here.

Now I hear those visiting dogs are coming again along with our Girl. Dogs, children, intruder cats...my formerly peaceful home has become a noisy zoo!

MOM

Calm down, Georgie. Why don't you go relax on the big bed.

GEORGE

Good idea. At least I won't get hissed at in there.

George, that is terrible! That is all wrong, being hissed at in your own home. If you need some peace and quiet you are welcome to teleport over to us.

Aww sorry to hear that George. You have seniority and should have first chance. Everyone has to have a turn though because your mom loves both of you.

We understand. When there were some foster tots here, we didn't like that much either...

Getting hissed at in your own house? That's a tough one, George.

Oh man! That is even worse than at our house. Of course while Ichiro sits on the Woman he doesn't hiss at me, but really he needs to stay off of her!

Dag, dood, no one should be hissed at in their own house, especially for no really good reason...

Well George we can sympathize, because we have hissing all the time at our house - and all of us have been here for a while. We think it is nuts but then again, we do it too. Sometimes it just takes a while for everyone to be comfortable and not hiss. We hope it happens at your place soon!

That is just not right to be hissed at in your own home!

Being hissed at is not nice! Have you tried dishing out horrible glares when mum and dad isn't looking? I find it quite effective!

Ah man, that's not good. But you all will be used to each other soon. We hope. Stick to the big bed in the meantime.

Well, dat was kinda rude. It was awfully nice of yoo to not just push her off mom's lap and take over. Guess yoo realized dat she needed a little bit of love what wif her dad not being der and stuff. At least yoo could escape to da big bed fur some alone time.
