Incident #1
GEORGE
OK, as I expected, we had our first "Shasta incident". You all know Shasta (our human sister's dog) is living with us for a while and last evening we almost came to blows!!
Shasta ate part of her dinner and left some in her bowl. Well, a while later Max strolled by and stuck his nose in the bowl to see what was there. Shasta saw this, jumped off the couch and charged Max, yapping at him. He ran for safety and is OK.
I understand she was protecting her bowl, but I'm not about to stand still for anyone bullying my brother. So I fulfilled my role as Senior Cat and rushed in to remind Shasta of Rule #8. I puffed out my furs and stood sideways and yowled. Mom had to get between us to prevent a major altercation. Even mild mannered Tipper ran over to see what was happening.
Note to readers: To prevent any injuries, Shasta was put in her crate while The Crew calmed down.

We're sorry 'bout the disruption to your life... but Shasta is maybe a little bit scared to be around all the kittehs so much?
Maybe you should get the rules laminated and put on her collar for quick review?
Oh boy sounds like someone didnt properly read the house rules....seems a time out and overview of the rules is in order
We have a dog, but he won't dare question the cats authoriy to just eat his food as he knows cats come equiped with claws.
However to prevent any argy bargy I always either cover left over food with a heavy plate or remove it.
We're glad everyone was okay.
Ut~Oh. Glad effuryone is ok and nothing really ensued. Maybe Shasta needs to eat all of her dinner to avoid this kind of thing.
You are a very brave mancat! Good for you!!!
Oh man, I can't believe that! I've got to say George, you are one heck of a big mancat to take on a woofie of any size! I am very impressed.
I love your kitten pictures George. Your sister Gracie was certainly a pretty girl too.
Big mancat points for you, George. We feel kinda sorry for Shasta though. Must be hard to have a bunch of cats around when you are a DOG.
Whoa! No woofie is gonna mess with you, George!!
We kind of feel sorry for Shasta--she's not used to little furballs running around doing what they want.
A woofie. Oh. Good job. We don't know rule #8 and the link doesn't work. But still, you surely showed the little critter its place.
it was bound to happen. We hope it does not happen again!
I can't really blame Shasta...I mean, I get upset when someone else investigates my food, too. But then, I eat it all when it's out in front of me, just to make sure that doesn't happen... Shasta might learn from that...
Good on you to protect your brother!
Merry X-Mas and a happy new year!
Love,
Yoggi
It's great that you kitties stick together. Perhaps somebody should tell Shasta that kitties are just curious.
Wow George you are very brave to confront a doggie like that - and a great brother too! I hope everyone is able to used to Shasta being there so hopefully there won't be much more need for this kind of bravery!
You are our Hero, George!!!!!!
Good fur yoo George! We know Shasta just thawt dat her food was gonna be eated by somecat other den her but, really, she should know by now dat der is always more. We're glad yoor mom was der to step in afore yoo hadda hurt Shasta. Our little woofie visitor is not so territorial about food. Dat is why mom hasta make sure she eats hers and not us. Speedy would happily help her wif hers foods if mom would let him.
I hope things calm down with Shasta in the house. I don't like woofies in my house, either.
Good for you George, reminding Sasha of the rules. She should realise any leftover woofie food becomes kitty food.
What a wonderful super brother you are. Protecting your sibling and good too that you reminded Sasha the rules of the house. Hope Sasha will be nice and think before she charges.
Iew. Smelling dogfood? But still Shasta has to remember the rules. Although it wouldn't hurt to remember she is just a dog and can't help not being as smart as cats.
You have to stick up for each other, good that Shasta has her crate for a time out.
I wish with mum if I just lift my paw and she knows what I want, I haven't gotten her fully trained on that, yet!
Silly Shasta just doesn't understand the law of the land, puffed up and howling....oh my....
Great Job George! I think Shasta needed to be in her crate for a long time out...not just until you all had a chance to recouperate from the incident!
My bro Tommy got put on Time-Out when he was harrassing me last night...and he and I are of the same species.
Dawgs can be furry funny round their food bowl...do not let them be round unsupervised...take care, kitties!
