We're Being Discriminated Against!

GEORGE

Mom found this candle thing that's supposed to remove odors. You can't see it very well, but there's a picture of a cat on the jar, both side and lid, surrounded by apples (the candle scent).

I feel I can't let this pass without comment. Are the makers of this candle implying that only cats have odors? Or that only cats cause odors? I take offense at this!!

There are odors in this house, but they're not OUR FAULT! All 4 of us bathe daily, sometimes several times, so it's highly unlikely that we have odors. It's a well known fact that our litterbox isn't scooped often enough and if it smells and we get catbox paws because of that, it's certainly not our problem.

Also, I'd like to point out the obvious that there are other people and things in this house besides US! I've personally detected a distinct odor in the laundry hamper area, in the vicinity of the pail under the kitchen sink and from all the shoes left lying around. Why aren't there pictures of those things on the candle? Why are cats being singled out as targets? Why are there no DOGS pictured on the container, or are dogs supposedly odor free!!!

This is an unfair and unjust depiction of cats and I'm telling Mom not to buy anything else from this company.

Chey, I think this could be an item for your political platform. It addresses the same problem as my posting about A Lesson in History, as well as Zeus' recent post about eHarmony.

Cats are being discriminated against, my friends, and we cannot allow it to continue!!

That is horrible discrimination indeed! We have an odor absorbing charcoal thing near our litter box and luckily it doesn't have a picture of a cat on it. Another sad example of the repression of cats.

This is so wrong. The worst part is I heard Momma whispering to Daddy about wondering where your furless one got it!!!!

Woofies are stinkier than kitties. Unfair, we need to set up a protest with this company.

This is just wrong. There are much smellier things than cats around. The company should have just put the apples on the label. All you really need to know is what scent the candle is.

I will most certainly address this issue in my platform.

I wanted to thank you for promoting my campaign as well. I think that button looks great. Did Robyn do a fantastic job?

George, I agree with you. This is just not right.... a clear case of cat discrimination. Why doesn't it have a picture of a skunk or buzzard or something on it?

This is wrong and unfair. I would be happy to put my paws to a petition against such things. Luckily for me, there is no chance of such a thing entering my house because my mum hates scented candles, they make her feel ill. I think she likes the smell of me though!

Your right! This business about us kitties making smells is just wrong. We are about the cleanest things in the cave!

We think it is cause The Big Thing can't smell the smells he makes. He uses all kinds of stinky kemicals that annoy us to clean things. An our litterbox is his problem. We aggreed to only do our busines there (when in the cave) and he agreed to keep it clean! He can't blame us if he doesn't clean it everytime we use it.

Yur right - who says it should be cats on the label? We pursonally know dat some human, and we won't name names, has da bad kind of odor that is so bad that a picshure of that human's shoes should be on the candle, not any cat picshure.

I think whomever made that can be sued for truth In Advertising, 'cause it shoulda been a dog or a People on it. I used to live with a dog, and thats like the STINKIEST stink there is, and not in a Goodness kinda way.

But maybe it's all a big misunderstanding. Perhaps the cat picture is to indicate how GOOD we smell, how this product will make everything smell as wonderful as a cat. Our Mom, like Cocoa's lady, attests to the fact that cats smell great cause she loves to put her face in our fur.

Just a thought -

You guys are just going to have to work harder to overpower that nasty thing!

Maybe the cat is on the container because the scent of the candle IS cat...a pleasant fragrance!
