Our 3rd Blogiversary

Today is our 3rd blogiversary! We can't believe we've been doing this 3 years already. Here's the link to our very first post on Nov. 7, 2005, which was about five months before Misty was even born.

When we first found our inspiration, Max, The Psychokitty, we thought he was totally awesome. (Just for the record Max, you still are!!) There were a handful of other blogging kitties we visited after seeing them in Max's links, and gradually we came to know & love lots of friends all over the world. Now some we know so well, we visit them almost daily and I think it's amazing that Mom can remember so many names & faces. You know, considering her age and all that.

When we first started blogging, we were a little intimidated. We thought, what on earth will we talk about? Cat's lives are pretty boring, after all. 'Specially ours 'cause we never go anywhere or do anything interesting like some of our friends. So at first I actually had my secretary (aka Mom) make a list of things I wanted to talk about. Well we went through that list and more, and still haven't run out of things to say!! There's always something happening at our house or at a friend's house. Of course, Mom is always on the lookout for material for our blog and sometimes Dad makes fun of her for carrying the camera around! But between parties, clubs, contests, awards, dares and just everyday stuff happening, we've kept quite busy.

It's hard to believe that Max was only 18 months old, younger than Misty is now, when we first started blogging. I must say, I did a fine job of training him and he's turned out to be a great brother and a first class Mancat! My dear sister Tipper helped me recover from the unexpected loss of my beloved littermate sister, Gracie, and still cleans my ears for me. She's done a good job helping me raise Max & Misty.

Over the years love has found three of us. Mattingly let his feelings be known for Tipper and they're very happy together. Speedy thinks Misty is the most beautiful girl in the world and they're doing fine, too. Max courted and won the heart of the lovely Harlie, Mattingly's sister. Me? Well, I'm 11 now, so I think I'll probably remain a bachelor and leave matters of the heart to the younger guys.

Our community has grown and changed, with The Cat Blogosphere having the most impact. It's where we all go now for our daily news update, and we want to say a big THANK YOU to those who work so hard to keep it going. Sadly we've lost too many of our group over the years, so Mom's eyes have leaked and we've done lots of purrin' for those families. But our community has grown beyond what I think was anyone's wildest dream and we're constantly updating our links with new friends, as kittens and cats find their forever homes and more friends join us. The best thing about our group is we welcome every cat - single, multi-family, feral, fostered, pure-bred, mixed breed...even stuffed!! We don't discriminate...we love all cats.

So, in closing, thanks everyone, for being there and making the past 3 years so great for The Crew. Keep on blogging!
