A Shared Title

TIPPER

After he told me I was uneven, I decided to be try being Dad's sweetie pie again, but I was surprised to find out I'm not the FIRST or the ONLY sweetie pie!!! Misty is our family cutie pie and I'm fine with that. I really am, 'cause I love my sister and she's very cute.

But now I found out Dad has had many sweetie pies before ME! Some are at The Rainbow Bridge and he was telling me about them last night. Of course Mom was his very FIRST sweetie pie, but she's a human and our Mom, so she doesn't count. Neither does our Sister B or the Blurpy Girl, 'cause they're humans, too.

But what about the others that I wasn't aware of? I know there were many "cats that came before" but I thought I was the first & only SWEETIE PIE!!! Now I hear that Puff, Mia & Shadow & George's littermate sister Gracie were sweetie pies too!? This is shocking! I never knew I was sharing my title with so many others.

Girls, have you been in this situation? Have you found out you're sharing a title with others that you never even knew? How should I react to this news? Should I be upset?

Answer quick so I know if I should sit by Dad tonight.

Yeah, Treater and Napper have told me about those who were here before me: Duchess, Skeeter, Shauna, Brandy, Tu, and Gabrielle. They were all special girls who have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. I know that Treater and Napper love me, too, and I'm happy here 'cause I was rescued from a bad home. I'm the only cat now, so that makes it really okay.

Remember, your Dad's big and you can each share him at the same time. He can have lots of Sweetie Pies and love you each lots and lots, even those who came before. That just means he's got a big heart with plenty of room for all of you. You do not need to be upset, Tipper.

(I love your green eyes!)

I don't think you should worry. Your Dad is a dig guy and has lots of love to share. I'll bet each Sweetie Pie was so dirrerent that he has no problem keeping you straight!

You are your own special brand of Sweetie Pie. So it's okay to share the title with others. No other is going to be like you! (^_^)

Don't you worry Tipper! I wasn't mine Mummy's first sweetie pie too, and the Giant Kitty wasn't too! Mine Mummy's firstest sweetie pie was a hamster! She did have some tortoises but mine Mummy said she found it easier to think of sweetie pies and someone with fur rather than all surrounded with a shell. But anyway, my point is, even though I is not mine Mummy's firstest sweetie pie, mine Mummy says it doesn't matter cos she loves each on of us in our own speshul way. So I is sure that is the same with your Dad too.

The great thing about Sweetie Pie, is there is always enough to go around!

We wouldn't worry. The human needs some of us around (and they tend to stay in this world for a loong time) and we just think it's fine we can be many to share the job.

Sometime before we adopted our humans some birdies looked after them. Would you believe that! It's good for them that they've upgraded.

Be nice to your humans. Maybe they don't always deserved it, but they surely do need it.

Tipper, you go sit by your dad. You are the current Sweetie Pie, that is what counts.

Tipper, I think that even if the words "Sweetie Pie" are the same, the love behind the words is special for each kitty.

Now, I'm a man-cat, so I usually get called, King Mr. Black, or another manly type nickname. But, I think I would like to be called Sweetie Pie, too.

My mom also had another little fur child named Muff before me that she loved very much, but that doesn't stop her from loving me now. I think you are safe!

Ah go ahead and sit by your Dad cause you are his "sweetie pie" now and maybe your the favorite of 'sweetie pies.' The only cat that was before me was named Pirate but he belonged to the son bean. Mom had other cats when she was really young, most of the time she had dogs. It all started with me fourteen years ago when I came home with them. At that time daughter bean just got a kitten named Gizmo. Patches was an outside kitty at that time, so what Mom thought would be only one cat ended up with three.

I think being your Dad's sweetie pie now must be a very great honor since he remembers his sweetie pies forever! It is hard to share a title though.
